Please email us at office@norwichkarate.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
All beginners receive their first lesson free. After that, members can pay for the monthly membership via Standing Order, which is easily to set up via your online banking.
Karate has sparring which does involve contact. But this is done in a controlled and safe manner. Members are encouraged to wear handpads when doing sparring. We also cover other aspects of karate such as kihon and kata which doesn't involve contact.
If you have previous martial arts experience feel free to let us know what experience you have. If you have previous Shotokan experience and proof of your grade via certificate/license book then you may join as your current grade. Any other styles would need to start as a white belt.
While we encourage those who attend squad to do competitions, it does not necessarily mean you have to. Members should consider that Squad is designed to support competition style grading, rather than covering the syllabus for gradings. All members are welcome to train in squad sessions, please see the 'fees' page for more information.
NKA can provide a range of karate gis for members which have the logo embroidered onto the gi. Members can choose to purchase a gi elsewhere but in order to grade at NKA but the gi must bear the NKA logo.
If you already have a gi, great! We sell NKA badges which can be purchased to be sewn on or you can simply ask to have the logo embroidered onto the gi.
